The village of Ano Doloi is in the Peloponnese on the Mani peninsular about 20km from the town off Kalamata, the apartment is self contained with a large balcony facing south, there are paved areas in the garden for sitting relaxing and watching the world go by, there are places to shop eat and drink in the nearby villages of Kato Doloi Stavropigio Kambos Kitries and Kalianeika, the beach of Santavo is only a 10 minute drive away. The apartment sleeps 4 and is fully equipped for self catering all bedding towels etc supplied.

The Peloponnese is off the beaten track where you can truly explore all the magic that this region has to offer. There are peaceful and secluded areas all over the region, offering tranquility and beauty, making it the perfect destination away from the hustle and bustle and overcrowding of places such as Athens or other popular Greek Islands. On route from Athens to the Peloponnese, you will pass through Corinthos (Korinthos) which is known as the Gateway to the Peloponnese. Here you can also stop and take a look at the Corinth Canal, which was finally completed (after hundreds of years in planning) in 1893.



The Peloponnese is also accessible from mainland eastern Greece, via the new Rio bridge, which connects the Peloponnese with Antirio, which is located close to the popular region of Nafpaktos.Mycenae and Mystras are two very popular and historically important areas in the Peloponnese, and are visited by thousands of visitors every year. Mystras is a perfect example of a Byzantine city, with its well preserved houses and churches that date back to the 14th and 15th century.The regions of Messinia and Laconia, located at the south of the Peloponnese are very popular destinations during the summer months and have lovely sandy beaches, and a very relaxing and picturesque setting. The site of Ancient Olympia is one part of the Peloponnese that everyone should try and visit. It was here that the original Olympic Games took place in ancient times, and visitors can gain a fascinating insight into the origins of the Games.You can visit the museum as well, which houses a wonderful range of exhibits and findings from the area.The whole region of the Peloponnese can be described as a paradise for those who are interested in the archaeological and ancient ruins that can be found everywhere. There are also many museums which you can visit to see some of the beautiful artifacts and objects that have been found during excavations of the various ancient sites.Each region in the Peloponnese offers something different from the others, and when visiting all of them as you travel through the region, you can begin to appreciate just how magical and special this stunning region of Greece really is.

The Airport at Kalamata has Easy jet flights from Gatwick and Thomas Cook from Manchester during the summer months, car hire is available in Kalamata from Helens car hire, there are flights from a lot of other European countries direct to Kalamata, Athens Airport is now only a 3 1/2 hour drive away.
